The challenge. In Argentina, only 1.5% of the population donates blood, far below the 8 or 10 percent needed. This means that in the presence of a health emergency, we would not have enough blood in the hospital blood banks. There is no massive communication to inform that people donating blood three or four times a year would guarantee the right functioning of the health system. An increase in blood donation would guarantee that more people have access to it. One individual donating blood helps save up to three lives. We must work on the present to shape the future.

What we developed. Moving blood is a mobile app created to raise public awareness about making voluntary and altruistic donations more frequently. Blood transfusion and its derivatives have become an essential part of the current healthcare system.

Outcome. To provide people with useful information about the donation process. Also, to help people find the nearest donation center. The app has a section that allows people to register their blood donations and be notified when they can return for their next one. Last but not the least, app users are able to request a donation campaign or participate in those that are open.
